February Layout

I've decided to skip the weekly layouts, and just go with more journaling on the blog, and a monthly layout with just pictures. I was just having a hard time being creative enough to come up with a weekly layout, and wasn't able to put as much journaling on it as I'd like . . . sooooo, here's the February Layout:

Day 59 of 365

Went running around today. Got my car a BADLY needed bath inside and out, and Robert browsed the pawn shop across the street while we waited. Then we went to Barnes and Noble, where I get a 30% discount (they used to own Gamestop, so we still get an incredible discount!). I LOVE to buy books, I just wished I finished them more often. The one on the right JUMPED out at me (see day 58!), and I love John Stossel from 20/20, and it was discounted already, so it was only like $5 with my discount.

My annual review was today. 1/2 a percent lower on my increase than last year, which might be expected for most companies, but not Gamestop - they are making money hand over fist. Also didn't get the promotion that I was hoping for. So, I'm a little disappointed. I got the same "grade" as last year, and my review was GREAT . . . did better than the year before actually. Just not as much to "show" for it as I hoped . . .

Hard to believe 12 hour days for 2 weeks only produces these few binders . . . technically, this picture is missing a few, and the purple one is actually next years stuff. We are ALMOST done. Finished the tax footnote stuff today, and my boss and I are gonna finalize it tomorrow.

You wouldn't think eating like this (baked salmon on a bed of greens) and walking 4 miles a day would make you GAIN weight! It's so frustrating. I feel like it's ALWAYS gonna be a "fight" . . . about the only way it seems I loose is to STARVE. siggghhhhhh

Gosh, today was a stressful day. It can't last forever though, it has to be done pretty much by this Friday, and then my boss is out Monday thru Wednesday, so I'll HOPEFULLY have a reprieve! LOL So, in honor of today . . . here's something that never disappoints. They fit if you gain weight, you don't have to wash them every time you wear them, you don't have to iron them or take them to the dry cleaners . . . SHOES are the BEST! The ones on the top right of the white shelf are the newest. They are 4 inch heels, but I couldn't resist! :)

Time to get serious again. I HAD lost about 75 lbs since my divorce, and over the last couple months gained 25 back. LOTS of excuses . . . medical procedures, hormone issues, the holidays, busy at work, but mostly just bein' lazy and eatin too much. Did a mile this morning, and just finished 3 miles tonight. That's the plan for every day . . .

Hi Dad! You are the picture of the day! I think this sign is TOO cool! Has directions to where me and my brother live, and were everyone in the family was born . . and a couple of my parents favorite vacation spots! I LOVE it!

Yummmmm!!! I got these today as well as 2 magazines with recipes (Cooking Light and another diet one). After a couple weeks of eating ANYTHING that wasn't nailed down, it's time to get serious again!

This has gotten to be our Friday night tradition . . . go get something to eat, and then walk it off at Walmart. We get paid on alternate Friday's, so we take turns picking up the tab. Today, we got the normal stuff, bread, milk, etc . . . and I got 2 shirts for $5 each, and a hoodie for $7! Woohooo!!

I ALMOST made it home before the sunset. Atleast I got to SEE the sunset. I've been working 12 hour days for the last 2 weeks, and not getting home till around 9, so getting to the last intersection at 6:23 was GREAT!

This was my dad's bed, then mine (that's me and Buffy in the picture) and then my niece. For some strange, AWFUL reason, my BITCH of an ex-sister-in-law (and that's the NICEST name I can call her) is holding this bed hostage . . . or else she's already turned it into firewood, and just won't tell us. My niece is already sleeping in a different bed, and MY family would like the bed back to hold for the next generation, yet she "won't discuss anything that doesn't directly pertain to my niece or nephew"!! What BULLSHIT, but SOOO typical from HER!

Here's the 2 jewelry sets I made this weekend. They both came from these monthly beading kits I get in the mail. I don't have a clue what I'm gonna wear them with, but they are cute!

Day 47 of 365

I'm gonna go ahead and jump in my time machine, and post my pictures for day 47 and 48 on day 46! ;-) The next couple of days are gonna be crazy at work (hell week continues to the 2nd week), and I took a couple of pictures today, so this gives me till Wednesday to post another.

Here's my jewelry cabinet I got a couple of months ago when I started making jewelry. It's awesome!! It's getting full, but I still haven't run out of room.

As promised, here is a picture from the "Pirate" wedding . . the groom is on the far right, and the bride is on the far left. Forgot to mention yesterday about the entertainment - the belly dancers in the middle!! hahahaha It was memorable, I'll give them that. Here's the video (it's a little dark, since I don't have flash on video) from the end of the wedding. I hope you can hear the audio, because we were cracking UP!! I was kicking myself that I didn't record the WHOLE thing.

Here's a pic of me and my FAVORITE love!! ;-) We got all dressed up for Valentine's Day today to go to a wedding for a friend of Robert's. It was the STRANGEST wedding I had ever been to . . . I didn't know that it was a "pirate" wedding until we got there and the groom was dressed up like Johnny Depp. I'll have to make that my picture of the day tomorrow and show you. It WAS entertaining though!

I didn't turn my laptop on yesterday, I didn't get my camera out, I don't think I even got on the internet at WORK yesterday . . . my boss did let me leave a little early, but just to run by the post office before they closed. I didn't get home till 6, and then all we did was go to Walmart! LOL Oh WAIT . . . I made a necklace last night! I need to make the matching bracelet and earrings today, and maybe I'll post the finished result next week.

I just LOVVVVVEE working in a cube! [obvious sarcasm here for LOVE week] Had my red "emergency light" on (above my computer) and had to put this sign on my guest chair for the first time. Another 12 hour day of hell!

Another 12 hour day at work, so I'm pulling a picture from last year of my baby. Chili boy, Chili Dipper, Chili Dawg . . . he's the sweetest, best dog I've ever had. I love him, even though he loves daddy more! :)

After 11 hours of work, and no lunch . . . not much to "love" today, other than the obvious (but it's not a picture I took today) . . .



I have a wonderful family that I love. Dad was taking the picture, and Robert is hiding behind Evan, but everyone else is in the picture!

I'm a coke addict . . .a DIET coke addict actually! Have to have one every morning, and this morning we were OUT!! Had to stop and get one, and went ahead and bought a 12 pack for tomorrow! Notice how there is an empty bottle in the door too! hehe

Robert put up these shelves in my garage a couple weeks ago, but today he moved a bunch of stuff out to the shed, and cleaned up the other half of the garage. It looks SO good now, AND it houses my favorite vehicle I've EVER had! Mom always taught me that if you are gonna spend THAT much money every month for a car payment, make sure it's something you LOVE . . . and I LOVE my Hyundai Santa Fe.

Here's where I spend about 25% of my week. Next week (actually counting my 5 hours I spent there today) that percentage will increase to atleast 35%. Next week is "hell week" when accounting finalizes numbers, and then I run tax numbers for the annual report and year end financials. Numbers will be "final" MANY times, and each time I have to re-run everything thru.

We went to the Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo tonight. It was the first time I'd ever been to this one . . . went to the Mesquite rodeo a LONG time ago when I was a kid. Robert got tickets thru his work. I told him that this is the second Friday "date night" in a row . . . he better watch it, I might get used to it!! hehe

Ain't it PRETTY!? Here's the finished box. Robert used the stain we had left over from redoing the bedroom furniture. We are using this box for all the vitamins and supplements we have. (his son is a personal trainer, so we have LOTS of supplements!)

TOMORROW!! I promise you'll see the finished bread box! haha ;-) Got invited to a Mavericks game tonight in the E&Y suite. I haven't been to the AA Arena yet, and hadn't been to a Mavericks game since high school. BUT . . . I was honored to be invited, since I was with Gamestop's Senior Accounting Officer, our controller, our treasurer, the Global tax director (my boss), the internal audit director, and our financial reporting manager. I was low man on the totem pole tonight, but got to rub elbows with the right people!

Can you feel the suspense building? . . . I'm gonna have to put off the "after" picture of the breadbox! hehe Got a last minute call from Vangie to have dinner at Mi Cocina tonight. Anne comes in from Atlanta once a month, and we try to go to Mi Cocina everytime. Unfortunatly, it's been more than a couple months since I had seen Vangie and Anne, and YEARS since I had seen Gretel. I miss them SOOOO much! I worked with them at Southwest Airlines for 7 years. It's the picture of the day, but I took it Saturday . . . then I'm gonna mess it up tomorrow too, by posting today's "after" picture tomorrow! LOL This is that bread box that we bought at the flea market on Saturday for $5. Robert refinished it this weekend, and we now have it on the kitchen counter. You'll get to see how good it looks tomorrow . . .

Well, this is real life . . . forgot to take a picture of all the exciting stuff today - my new red dress for a friend's wedding, my pedicure, my new purse, all the muchies I made for the game, the cabinet Robert re-did that we bought at the flea market yesterday . . .instead, you get a picture of the Super Bowl on TV, my laptop and cord on the table (was putting electrical tape on the cord that the puppy chewed), my flip flops that I wore for my pedicure on the table so the puppy wouldn't chew those too, my wallet so that I could give Ian my ATM card for him to go fill my car up with gas (isn't that sweet of him, I forgot to do it while I was out today), and my margarita that I didn't finish! LOL Drinking that bottle of water instead. THIS is life!
