Happy Memorial Day! This is a picture of my dad's dad and my mom's dad when they were serving our country! Felix left the service after World War II for a civilian life, and Don re-enlisted in the Air Force and didn't retire until 1971.

Here's the latest video game. Was waiting a couple of weeks to buy used at a MUCH cheaper price, and got it Friday. Robert and I have to both play though . . . he has to get me thru the shooting scenes, and I have to get him thru the investigation scenes.

It's POOL TIME! Hey, man . . . don't judge . . . I'm on a budget! :) It was only $25 and it's PERFECT! Big enough for my floatie and for Robert to sit in the corner (if he even wants in? he didn't get in last year's pool much). We still have the stairs for last years pool, haven't knocked them down . . . just in case we wanna high dive! :)

This Casey Anthony trial is SO interesting to me. Today was the opening arguments, and the defense dropped a bombshell by saying that Casey was molested as a child, and that Caylee drowned in the family pool . . . Can't WAIT to see this unfold!

Robert took me to get my library card today. Haven't been in YEARS! They have lots of books online, but I needed a library card to be able to access them. Even borrowed a couple of audio books to check out. Need some suggestions on what to get next . . . .

Are kids the only voters on American Idol anymore? Haley should have TOTALLY won this year. Hopefully she'll be as successful as Chris Daughtry . . . I think they are both SO great! I just went and bought 4 of her songs on Itunes!

Today was the last day of my first session of Weight Watchers at work. It started January 22nd, and I started online at home on January 1st. I weigh in at home on Saturday mornings, and at work on Wednesday's at lunch. I'm hoping that we have enough people to start another session at work, because I need the motivation. I still have a ways to go . . . . I've lost 9.4 lbs @ work and 14.4 lbs @ home.

I'm so sick of Lifetime TV! I've been in bed since Thursday after work, first with what I thought were just allergies, and then with a 103 degree fever. The bird feeder outside is like a little birdie buffet providing my only other entertainment.

My parents got the shop all done!! Yesterday they painted the walls…..Dad did the cutting in and Mom did the rolling. Then they started moving things back on all the shelves. Today they moved the motor home out and vacuumed and cleaned all the saw dust everywhere. It looks great! I know y'all are thrilled to have it finished!

It was MY idea to go to the outdoor flea market while we waited on my car at the shop . . . and it was ME that found this fishing boat for $150. He's been wanting one JUST like this since I met him, so I'm glad he finally got it. Now we just need a motor, a battery, an oar, some more fishing gear, prolly a new pole, and . . . . ;-)

Got our new mattress topper today. It's 3 inches of memory foam, on top of a 12 inch mattress . . . and now 31 inches off the ground! We really have to "climb" into bed now . . . hope my sheets fit?!

This picture was released today of all of the members of the national security team in the Situation Room of the White House yesterday afternoon, watching the live feed of the mission to take Osama dead or alive in Pakistan.

How's this for a Glamour Shot? I have a staph infection AGAIN . . . for like the 4th time in 2 years. On antibiotics, and while they "war" with the infection, I feel like dog crap. Taking pain pills because it hurts like hell, and this is where I've spent the last 24 hours . . . in bed.

Woke up at 3:45 am . . . got my coffee AND my diet coke. Already had one tear in my eye when Prince William and Harry showed up in the same church that their mom's funeral was. :( It was a perfectly romantic wedding!

It's working! My food is starting to sprout! Even the corn, which I didn't think would because it doesn't get much sun. I saw ONE little carrot spout, and no peppers sprouting from the seeds . . . but the pepper plants that I have are growing like crazy!

Well, my knock-out rose got knocked out today . . . TWICE! I was about to leave this morning, and I saw Chili out the living room window IN MY GARDEN!! I caught him in the act! He got a spanking, and I quickly tried to save the plant before I left for work. I guess he didn't think my replanting was adequate, because it was back out when I got home! SIGH! I hope it lives (I mean the rose, not Chili . . . I guess I'll let Chili live! hehe) ;-)

It was time today to get off my LAZY ASS and start working out again. Since I bought my HRM, I haven't used it ONCE . . . until this morning. Started with this DVD that I got a week ago at Half Price Books for $6. Did 2 miles today. Gotta work my way back to the tougher DVD's next week.

Robert is "no carb'ing it" . . . so he decided he wanted to cook a brisket today. It didn't turn out too well, it was kinda dry and tough, but I cooked a pork loin as a back up. I made corn casserole, baked beans and corn bread to go with it. I'm stuffed!

Part 3 . . . all planted. All the plants, all the seeds . . . all done! Even mowed and trimmed the hedges. Watered . . . now just waiting on the sun. Hope some of it grows, don't expect it all to live . . . it is my "test garden". Hopefully it won't get eaten . . SOMETHING dug around in it last night!

After doing part 2 of this project, I realized today is Earth Day! Perfect timing. :) So today, I laid out 50 feet of soaker hose and hooked it to a timer, then laid 7 bags of soil on top, then planned out the plants and seeds I'll plant tomorrow. Have tomatoes in the pot (that's also hooked up to the soaker! woohoo) . . . then a knock out rose, black berry bush, and raspberry bush. Those are lettuce seeds in front that I'll plant (yes, I know they need to come out of the packets, just planning! LOL) . . . then strawberries, peppers, mint, carrot seeds, lavender, lilac, beans, rosemary, oregano, and corn seeds at the end. I bought all these seeds last week, and figured I might as well plant them in my "test garden" and see how they do! Cost me an even $200 for all the tools, dirt, hose, plants and seeds.

Hope my landlord doesn't get mad . . . but I just chopped down all his hedges by the deck! They were blocking my view of the backyard, and it REALLY needed to be redone. They were UGLY! Gonna go get a soaker hose, a timer, and a bunch of bags of top soil tomorrow. If the weather cooperates this weekend, I'll plant me a garden all along the house.

Had to meet with the Cigna benefit coordinator today. Our health benefit year runs from July to June, so it's time for change . . . and it's not good. :( We can keep the "traditional" plan with the co-pay and pay twice as much as last year, or go to the "choice" plan and not have a co-pay. Had planned to play the odds and go with the choice plan, but after Evan's accident decided to play it safe.

Wow! Long day! Left work at 1, kissed Evan hello at 2, he went into surgery around 3, finished around 7, and got to see him after 8. This was Dr. Patel in the waiting room telling us how the surgery went . . . lots of anxious family listening!

I don't know if it's sympathy pain, or stress, or something I did . . . but MY back is messed up now! Not nearly as bad as Evan's (left arrow in picture), and I don't think mine is really my back. I went to the chiropractor today after the last 24 hours in MAJOR pain, and he said I "slipped a rib" (right arrow above). It killed me to breath! I'm hoping after my adjustment, some rest, and some advil I'll be feeling as good as Evan with that morphine drip! LOL

Evan's had his first surgery today. The doc removed all the damaged bone fragments, and has to go in from the front tomorrow or Tuesday to put in his "robo" parts. I went to see him this afternoon, and he was HIGH as a kite! LOL Probably won't even remember I was there, but I have photo proof! ;-) Also took a TON of food for the family, since they've been up there since Friday. Too bad Evan can't eat any - hopefully after his next surgery . . . he'll be up there for a week. :(

What a scary night!! My mom called me crying at about 10pm last night, and I was so worried . . . my first thought was that their was a forest fire out there, because there have been so many around here. But it was Evan (my nephew). Someone posted this picture to his facebook account right after my mom called me. He was riding his dirt bike, and did a jump and landed bad. They took him to the hospital, he had an MRI late last night, and found out he broke his back (L3). He's moving his arms and legs, and is in ICU. I guess they will do surgery today?

Robert took the day off, so Chili got to help him in the backyard. Our fence got blown over by the storms, so he had to fix that, and Robert is prep'ing the yard for my "white trash" pool! woohoooo

I had to get gas this morning, and this is the CHEAP place to get gas. SIGH!! Cost me almost 60 bucks! And have to fill up atleast once a week. That's over $3,000 a year just to go to work. :(

Got my new HRM (heart rate monitor) in the mail today. It came so fast. I just ordered it Sunday night. I spent a LOT of time researching which one I should get, so I'm really happy with it already . . . just hope it motivates me to use it in the morning!

I'm not much of a gamer, but every once an awhile a game peaks my interest. This one did when it came out, but since I get 25% off of used games, I knew I needed to wait awhile. New this game cost about $60 . . . I got this on sale today for $14.90 (tax included!). Of course, I was killed about 30 minutes in . . like normal! :)
